"Why server monitoring?"

That is usually the first question that enters many people's head when they hear about monitoring. First, it is key to understand exactly what needs to be monitored and the reason for it being monitored. Understanding what needs to be monitored in detail is always dependent of how our clients use their servers. However, usually there are three areas of monitoring that fall under everybody's realm of maintaining a good and sound working server.

  1. Overall System Health
We make sure the server is up and running under "normal" conditions. This status is reported to us at all times (24x7). This would lead to a speedy troubleshooting and even resolution to a potential issue. Recovery could just take minutes!

  2. System Errors
Servers don't walk up to people and say they have a problem. In fact, most servers that APS doesn't manage, don't even notify anyone! How was your business supposed to know about this error? It could have been serious. That is why when problems are recorded by our software and is reported in real-time so to allow the most amount of time to correct the error and not the least amount of time (when it breaks).

  3. Security
The last thing any one company wants is an un-authorized person running through their private and confidential information. That is why not only is it important to secure your servers for your own business, but also to secure your customer's information that resides on the server.

APS also provides monitoring for custom software. We can monitor any software program running on the server. So no matter how custom your server is in running applications needed for your business, we can help your business keep services up and running to your employees. Contact us today!
